This... I'm really not quite sure of, as it was a spur of the moment design. There is no current story for it other than it was a blade possibly wielded by one of Veszena's children, orrr is of at least distant relation to her. I think I may revise this design some, though, like maybe simplify the pommel into something less... *shrug* What do you think?

The pommel looks almost organic, like tendrils unfolding from the handle.  I'm unsure of what you typically make of the stories for your works, but from a glance, this is what I take from it.  I see it (potentially) as forged by a group of cultists who worship an insidious deity, and choose to reflect that deity's quiet, unseen influence in the world around them through the split in the guard and the points of the pommel.

*shrugs*  It's a theory.  Regardless, I love the look of the sword.  Makes me think of the two Prototype games.

Can't say I've played the Prototype games, but you're not far off on the insidious deity theory.  Veszena, whose name will probably be changed in time, is better known as the birth mother of the Blood Dragonflight... so insidious could be one word to describe her...

The reason that I brought up Prototype was because the color scheme and the organic-looking prongs on the crossguard and pommel reminded me of some of the weapons used in said series.  Regardless...

Personally... I say leave it how it is.
Like all your pieces, it has that unique ancient feeling, that something secret is laying dormant within.
Keep up the awesome work!

Thanks! I appreciate the kind words. =)

Speaking of blades... I almost released another, but I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't reflect what I had in mind very well... so it's in storage till I can agree on something. >_>

I think it needs to stay as is. For the longer swords, this is my favorite design so far. The details are gorgeous, and I adore the details on the hilt. It should stay like this for sure!

I like the double red gems. it is fancier than what you normally do but some blades are not meant to fit the molds of others. you have a red accent line on the left part of the hilt. it would interesting if you would increase that accent and mirror it on the other side. more ornate blade than usual but there is something.....more ... sinister about the blade that the red design just emphasizes along with the pommel. Leave the pommel if that is what you were going for, if you are not, then simplify the pommel and at least change the color of the wrapping on the handle to tone down the atmosphere.

*nod* I reckon I'll keep the atmosphere as is then. Since given the possible history of the blade, a sinister edge would probably suit it. =)

Oh? Have you tried refreshing your page? Sometimes that can help... but then DA's system has a habit of being... odd.
