"Forged from the breast of Elysaina, by the tranquil glades her children call home, this blade was crafted with their blessing, their wisdom and care..." "Ah, I see the druids have incited poetry in my young apprentice. Although... let's be honest. A sword is a sword, no matter the story of its origin." "It is a sword I could not have made without their help, Hared. They say the purity blessings they placed upon it will keep me safe from corruption." "Heh, they'll say that to every naive traveller who takes their word like a trusting child, as if they were listening to the voice of a parent." "...must you belittle anything that originates from that forest? I swear there are times you speak like this because they cheated you from something." "Nothing would be further from the truth, lad. All I ask is that you remember that it is your hands that wield it, for without them a sword is a sword." -- Artaen & Hared
OK, this is in relation to my current story, 'A Hunter's Journey', and that's all I'm going to reveal for now on lore concerning Art's claymore, his preferred weapon of choice when he's not wielding a bow. (Which will receive concept art, too, eventually. Yet for now the sword was more deserving of one as it appeared in: [link]) I wanted to design something practical and traditional, so nothing particularly ornate for ceremony and... anyway! I won't bore you with anymore details, but for those who missed/ignored it, the beginning chapter for the story behind this can be found here: [link] Enjoy!
I like it.
