Description
I’ll write up a lore description about this shortly, but for now, here’s another art I’ve been working on for my fiction’s world. I’m not totally sure if I’m finished with it yet, but it echoes my recent interest in background and storytelling illustrations...
Anyhoo, characters involved are Rune and Jen. Location is set above a blanket of clouds, among the tallest peaks of the Arystonaai Ranges. Amongst it stands a civilisation that existed well before the Era of Chaos, and was protected by the angel, Sajen; one of the Creator’s Keeper of Secrets and grand designer of the ancient ‘Weapons of Sajen’.

I really like this piece, the characters are striking (especially the blue-haired individual; I'm guessing Jen?)
The ruins look lovely, though in my experience, if you are high enough to be above the clouds, you are high enough to be past the vegetation line, and the area is quite verdant for the implied altitude.
However, it is a fantasy setting, and you can do as you see fit. I would almost suggest adding some creeper vines or some indication that the plant life has contributed to the decay of the structures, because there is a certain incongruity about the level of devastation in the ruins, and the amount of 'nature' that has worked to reclaim it. I suppose that it might be that I am unfamiliar with the timeline, and that the distance between the rocky outcrop and the background lacks a certain sense of scale so I am unable to tell how far apart they are.
A very nice piece, and I hope that my long-winded opinions don't make me seem overly 'toolish'
