As ironic it was, when Evaryr was presented this blade by Prince Imreks own hand, it was in a time when the two forged a brilliant friendship, before the days when they became known enemies. Of course, the irony was held in both the name of the blade and the very oath Evaryr swore upon it, for Kaeyr himself, an ancient figure of nelri history, was considered one of the last great warriors of his races order, before Rothelim the Farseer brought unification throughout Ailyrenai and gave birth to the line of Phoenix Kings.
Though Kaeyr was thought to have sworn his knee to Rothelim, and his future children to the throne, few can deny that the great warriors loyalties belonged foremost to the lands he was raised and born from. Such was the oath he swore upon his blade when he vowed servitude to the Phoenix Court, and several verses of folklore insinuate just how severe it was.
No doubt, it was truly that what convicted him in the end as a traitor to the withdrawn throne of Phoenix King Natharidel the Reserved. Legend has it that while Natharidel gave upon his generals the difficult order to pull back their armies from a wartorn northern realm, Kaeyr fought tooth and nail to protect from Zysinorah threat, he disobeyed it with broken anger and thought them all cowards for abandoning their innocent people there.
As such, Kaeyr's disloyalty to the throne of that darkened age was not handled well, though it was because of him that not all hope was lost to those hauntingly left behind. Kaeyr rose to the dreadful challenge and laid out what scholars believe were the first hints of a citizen levy ever recorded in Ailyrenai history; he trained hundreds of frightened noncombatants into hardened soldiers. And in spite of Natharidels dire abandonment of them, they became collectively known as the Forgotten; an army that soon became one of legend for its creativity.
Whether it was this that sparked Evaryrs own decision to rise against the Mad King and put aside his friendship to Prince Imrek, Evaryr turned this blade against the one soul he could have considered his brother and blamed him for all the innocents who had suffered for his stubbornness and pride. His oath to the lands and their people was what proved the innocence of Evaryrs heart to them much like it was said about Kaeyr's in the end.
lol, Ill say now that I was listening to the Prince of Egypt soundtrack while I was writing out the backstory behind this one. I also drew a sheath for it, although I think Ill only bother with that when I get around to creating a compilation piece with all of what Evaryr wields, including any significant non-weapon possessions...
You have awesome weapons designs! They are nice to look at, but they don't have ridiculous things sticking out that could prove harmful to the wielder.
Hehe, thanks! And yeah... I like things to look at least practical enough to use, lol. (Which is why I tend to look at the weapons in WoW at least and mostly prefer the starter gear over the epic bullswa. XD) Still, I wouldn't say all of them are like that. One or two could probably use some finer work...
lol, I wonder where I'd start on the lore though. Kaeyr's era would be quite a challenge, as I haven't really thought of anything during then. More one for cloudly myths. x_x
That's a hard question. You give so much to start and build on, so many ideas that could be followed through with detail... hey, cloudy myths are really interesting.
yeah..*laughs* you should make a time table! that would help out a lot. Hmm...where to begin...I guess most people only create one story and then build on it, not a ton to start with...which one's your favorite? or which one do you think you could expand upon the most.
Both functional, and beautiful.

You're right though. There is a great deal of stuff I need to build on... just don't know where to begin.
