Although many see the kyrathi as an evil race from what their birth mother, Sysileth, raised them as, those who know their ancient history well understand that there was another side to their race worth noting. This side, referred more intimately as those who ignored Sysileth’s calling to enslave mankind to their will, were few but had hearts as pure as the divine being that gave birth to Sysileth and their birth father, Fyren.

Like Fyren, those among the kyrathi who chose to fight against their corrupted brethren sided with the grace and teachings of Elora. However, because of their few numbers, they were forced into the shadows of history and had little choice but to watch their racial identity suffer at the hands of Sysileth. Elora felt their pain, and it is said she gave them and her son Fyren the peace of closing their eyes off to the world after Sysileth and her children abandoned Zerran for lands across the sea.

By then the kinder side of the kyrathi disappeared from the realms of man and nelri, though it is often spoken that they still do exist in lands forgotten and share a close bond with Krisethil’s disciples. And even then it is thought they still walk the desert sands their corrupted brethren once controlled; seeking ways to undo the miseries they inflicted upon the world and free those among them who turned from Sysileth’s ways...

It’s funny that when I started drawing this late last night, it was merely me wanting to try something different. Wanted to go with a light theme, and so I thought of my recent drawing of Kyse and couldn’t think of a better colour scheme to work with.
