Description

"You will always hold a special piece of my conscious, my love for life, that no other can hope to take from you. Walk your path knowing this, Myar."
-- Kaethyr

According to several ancient transcripts, the Ishayrian Eldar known as Myar was known as the ninth child from the loving bond between Farseer Ilyndrae and her one and only mate and husband, Kaethyr. Born like the rest of her siblings on an unknown planet, far estranged from the intrigues of the Imperium of Man and its great enemies, Myar grew up in relative peace and knew not to fear what many Eldar were haunted by in other corners of the galaxy. For as she and her kin knew it, their homeworld, although primitive in lacking industry, was mysteriously safe from the vile tendrils of Chaos.

Myar learnt early on in her childhood a quiet, trouble-free existence. Still, unlike her other kin, her thirst for adventure lead her to yearn the old ways of her people that had since been discouraged after their Craftworld settled and became an anchor for a peaceful culture that had largely abandoned the paths of war. With the help of the planet's native inhabitants, few Ishayrian Eldar who were born there were concerned with the terrible conflicts happening elsewhere in the galaxy's grimdark reaches. Instead, they focused on living simple lives, knowing happiness many believed impossible.

With the last of their surviving ancestors and allied races protecting the sector their homeworld belonged to, there was little need for young Eldar women to walk paths that did not lead to raising and bearing children. Myar, however, with her thirst to see beyond the comforts of her world, and with a unhealthy obsession in learning the ancient war stories of her aunt, Esther, she became a huntress to her village before eventually setting her mind on being chosen to become a member of the Yah'yr; a mysterious space-faring martial clan that were revered akin to guardian angels by her world's grateful inhabitants. And while they indeed protected Myar's planet and others near, they were as mortal as she was, being only fellow Eldar and humans who had long put aside their racial differences centuries ago and adopted alien technologies few among the modern Imperium have ever seen or heard of. Where those alien technolgies came from, only the Yah'yr seem to truly know.

Few were allowed the privilege to join the Yah'yr, and for many years Myar gazed up into space from her village with unanswered prayers in her thoughts. It did not stop her from finding another way off the planet, however. Sympathetic to his daughter's thirsts, Kaethyr began teaching her much of his skills as a former ranger. For years this occurred and for that time Myar was content with what she learnt. The two often went on hunting escapades together into the lush forests of their world, but there was only so much her father could teach her and Myar longed for the excitement of living as his sister did, travelling to unknown stars in search of fulfilling prophecies. Kaethyr initially thought to curb it by managing to convince his stubborn sister to take Myar under her wing to train in the arts of thinking and fighting like the peerless warrior she once was at her age. It was a privilege Myar accepted without hesitation, and her father hoped it would be enough to sate her thirst for good.

It did not. After years of being a pupil of Esther's, the renowned warrioress knew her niece's thirsts all too well and knew no amount of training or living on their peaceful world would quench the fire she had abundant in her soul and blood. This would haunt Myar's parents in later times to come, for it lead to Esther going against their better wishes to see their daughter sate herself beyond their caring eyes. It was not long before Esther helped Myar in uncovering a forgotten portal that allowed her to leave her homeworld on her own free will, not knowing what adventures lied beyond it.

And the rest, as some would call it, is history. Myar's exploits in the galaxy had only just begun.

And there we go! This will likely be my last Eldar artwork for now, as I want to move onto other things before this year ends. What I will say though is that I have had a blast drawing stuff a lot of late. Many great ideas survived onto the tablet and overall I'm happy with my creations made in the last month and-- wait. Is this a good thing? Why am I so cheerful? I'm scared... *eerie music begins*

But what do you think? Questions? Comments? Small tokens of love? Always welcome. =D
