“Do you really think there’s more to life than this? I mean, don’t you sometimes dream for something else… something that isn’t surrounded by the familiar?”
As the only woman who resides in Havenwood, Emilya has longed to escape what she has secretly considered a prison. Although life has been good living on family lands, she has outgrown the quaint contentedness it once offered her reclusive, younger self. Now a woman grown, however, she wishes for the day to be courted by a great hero-- an unrealistic image fostered by tales of high adventure from the books she’s read.
Though her love for literature has warped her sense of reality and created worlds only her heated imagination can truly fathom, Emilya is particularly modest and kind. When her parents were taken from her three years ago, she has become alike a parental figure to her older brother, Emeryl, always a voice of reason and calm when life seems too hard for the siblings. She cares for him as he tries his best to protect her and their home and, in a way, Emeryl is as much a hero to her as the imaginative one she seeks to marry someday… even if they are worlds apart.
Perhaps a day will come when Emilya’s prayers for a worthy husband are answered? Perhaps not.
And here’s an illustration for Emilya! Next up will be one and a portrait for her brother.
