Evaryr's Spear by Aikurisu Evaryr's Spear by Aikurisu
Will have a story to go with this one shortly, but for now, here's another weapon concept for Evaryr. This time it's of the spear he wields... and I may just add a couple of details with it as well. (Such as adding a lock of a certain someone's hair to it and mayhap something else... ) I just wanted to have something done today, as I feel I've been slacking off art... WoW or no WoW. Then again... we should probably blame Port Royale 2 these days... >_>;;

Anyhoo, I'll definitely be updating this one. Stay tuned.

If I may ask a question, I've got a running series of Zanpakuto's that I've created and have a world I'm building around them, I need a released form for one of them, Kazeshin, this weapon suits wonderfully I would ask if I may use it as his released state?

I provide a link to the original deviation, I don't upload it myself, I put a link in both the written piece, as well as in the description.

Wonderful weapons I've seen from a friend linking me through your style, I really do enjoy them. May end up watching you

lol, what's wrong with watching me right now? =P

Anyhoo, while I'd rather hold onto this blade as an original concept purely for one of my characters, I guess I won't mind if you simply use it as an example for whatever it is you need it for. Just so long as people know of its origins and that you're not claiming it as your own work, I'm fine with it. I would, however, be more comfortable with the idea if you simply commissioned me to draw a similar spear or have me alter this one so it's unique enough to avoid confusion among viewers.

Well you can certainly look foreword to that in the future, for the time being my Paypal is a little bit broke because I've got to get some of my contest prizes ready for handing out.

However, once I am able to pay for commission work, you will certainly be near the top of the list. For now I will keep it purely as a reference image ^_^

beautifully done, how much time do you spend on your weapon designs?

This one in particular was done in roughly two days of free time... so about 8-10 hours. For the most part, though, I tend to be able to draw up a typical blade in 4-8 hours, without distractions. Depends on the size and detail and usually when I push myself to get something done within the day I set myself to do it. Hence why these last few works' descriptions have been lacking, because I haven't had the time to write on them as well. I'll only write something if I've got at least half a day to think on it beforehand. =)

...you're lucky you have that time to spend on them and that you can finish them within a day if you tried. The size and detail would definitely affect the time spent on it. that doesn't seem like a lot of time for something so detailed but you know what you're doing and you sit down to get it done. It takes me forever to finish something on a computer, but then again I'll spend a half hour here and there making it seem like forever spent on a project. Also that I really don't know what I'm doing...hehe *smiles* yeah thinking can really help. Especially when you have time, I have no time lately...It's a bummer... It's funny too, you have so much to build off of already yet you keep building :D

Yeah, yeah. =P In my defence, though, I have an imagination that just can't stop thinking of new stuff? ^^;

Yet to be honest... half the reason why I don't linger on one thing at a time is that I'm afraid I won't be able to recreate the same look effectively enough to call them of the same blood, so to speak. Same reason why I don't do much fanart of preexisting characters from games, anime and whatnot.

Anyway, the good thing about drawing weapons like these is that I only have to focus on one thing in the drawing. Sure, the same can be said for drawing people, depending on their detail, though they require a lot more time and thought, imo. And I just don't have enough aspiration for them right now...

Well yeah you have an imagination! A vague, "hey that's a neat overview of a possible awesome story" ;P

Ah, yeah that would be hard, keeping characters the same throughout if I'm getting what you're saying. I think you'd be okay if you spent some time with it...

That's true, I hate drawing backgrounds...and people for that matter, I can never get the shading right on faces. It drives me crazy so I stick to wolves...
you put a lot into their clothing too, you design them right? Or do you use a model? Hey as to having no aspiration to draw people, why not try something new?

Like? =P

I design most of my own clothing, yes. Though if I like something enough, I'll borrow parts of it into my designs. As for keeping characters the same... think if I had to draw a comic, I doubt I could draw a single character on the same page that people can identify with as the same person in every detail. Whether it's because I use too many personal details or what, I really don't have that much experience with drawing people, in that way. That's why I admire those artists who are capable of it.

Mmm...most of your short stories for instance...

wow, great job with the clothing styles. you could be a designer. hah. I think that's a true talent, to be able to drawn the same character time and time again...very difficult there. well those details add a lot to your artwork. just be glad you can draw people the way you do!

lol, the sad thing is that I usually surprise myself whenever I do complete something and it doesn't look half bad. ... if that's any indication of how shot my self-confidence is lately. >_>;;

And eh, first I need to find a stable muse. That's been my problem for the past half year, for it's true I've created the foundations for several short stories, (Or in this case, RP environments that could lead to in-depth short stories based on them... ) but they never get any further than that. Let's just say many who inspire me to create them in the first place tend to leave me in the dark before I can make something of them. So it's left a bad taste.

hmm, looks good to me, but maybe have a larger weight at the back end for counter balance purposes? Otherwise, I cannot see a fault.

Hmm, may give it some thought. The back end does feel a little lacking to me. Maybe that's the reason...
