Helpless

A heart wrought with guilt and regret. A heart touched by the Forthright’s stone, Catelyn could not forget the life she could have had. Now a warrior more than a helpless maiden, some would say years of learning the blade had made her into a stronger person. Yet an unforgettable memory from her former life remained, harking back to a day where she found true love and lost it before the sun dawned with its blessing. Only the moon saw that destiny.

For a time, she had hid this day from others in her most sealed of memories. For a time she was able to live a life without guilt and regret. A life where she fought for herself and knew not weakness. She was kissed by greater fire; living amongst a larger world with an unquenchable thirst for adventure. When she arrived at Sleetsquall, though, that life was lost to the stirring of old emotions that made her new life feel like a childish lie. Before she realised it, she was a helpless maiden again; yearning for what she tried to forget.

She was afraid again. This time, though, she was truly alone.

There was much more to this work as a whole, but I decided to crop it, til I can figure out what more to do with it. Overall though, I think I'm finished with this one. Feels like ages since I’ve drawn Cat too, which I’ll admit I’ve got a couple of WiP works of, but will probably never get around to finishing. This one marks a helpless moment for her when Klaus Lysendia unexpectedly comes back into her life and reopens many old wounds she tried long to forget. Unlike her guilt-stricken soul, though, the gentle man she fell in love with years ago had become bitter and lost in a world she was afraid of standing in to understand where their destinies laid now.
