Beloved daughter to ever graceful Queen Myria and noble King Eddard the III, Princess Jennifer Tyriande has long been considered an only child and as such the rightful heir to their throne of Yheriess; an honour first bestowed to Xaivius Lightseer; one of the heroes of Shadow’s End and known ancestral parent to Jen’s kingly father.

Such titles however were more a curse to be known among vagabonds, sellswords, bandits, and any commoners with the unsavoury potential to become such. So thrust into a world of informalities and fear, Jen was left naked beyond her kingdom’s walls with knowledge of real life so unwitting and naïve, some would have confused her for a babe at a wet nurse’s breast. And much to her distress, she was robbed of luxuries she previously took for granted and was made to conceal her identity for sake of prolonging good health for herself and those close to her. The days where she was pampered by personal entourages and given the pleasant company of bards that once sang chivalrously of ladies and their knights to win her adore were simply no more.

Since the fall of the Daeyaran kingdom, the old world she knew of once being blessed with valiant deeds and insightful amities was reduced to a plagued and deceitful land. It’s order of knights were broken and few from death, while their ladies deathly cried from shallow graves. An innocent was scarcely seen, and those with power barricaded themselves with greed and vain hope of self-perseverance; hope that fell deaf to those who found the shadow’s path.

Yet somehow Jennifer was amongst it all, still unsullied and unharmed. Were she more fortunate, the banners of Yheriess might have protected her in such dire times. Though instead it was the cruel and somewhat gruelling relationship she had with a mysterious ranger that plucked her away from certain death at the beginning of her misfortune. Fyren was his name. A man far from the noble mind a knight, but he was ever kind in protecting her life. Where bards would sing to soothe her nerves, he would lick his blade across a whetstone instead. She disliked his brusque mentality, but his sword was a careful reminder that he was a great deal of what kept her alive.

Then there was Rune. Quiet, but sincere. The other half of her guardian’s circle. He was light between them that somehow knew how to calm a storm like Fyren and still manage to care for the blisters and sores Jen was bound to through their travels together. A young man with the heart and gentleness of a lamb... yet bound to nightmarish dreams and memories of a time that frequently starved him of sleep. Sometimes she felt he was more afraid of the world than her, yet he never feigned from his protection of her, nor allowed her to learn much about his frightful uncertainties.

Still, she had hoped that the three of them would find peace in lands where it did not crave her blood; lands where she could sup with them over some merriment, without paying constant caution to their surroundings. She prayed day and night that her kingdom was also in this dream... and that it would still be there to welcome her home.

Sometimes though… she knew not how it could survive against what Rune dreamt.

And there we have it. Few notes though. I have never found so much enjoyment in drawing an art in… a very long time. Not only was it fun, but it was drawn in 2 days. Much better than the weekly marathons I’m used to. XD

So yes, this is the blue haired princess I’ve drawn from past years… but without the transforming magic that consumes her body later in the fiction of Phoenix Requiem. Does this mean I’m writing back into it? Nope. I have more interest in writing descriptions like these... and the nelri lore. I will however draw illustrations for Rune and Fyren, eventually. And, when my drawing days are back to normal, I’ll get around to those commissions!

great work! your style gives it the impression as being a touched up 3D model. ^_^

Is it a good thing that children believe in the Tooth Fairy or the Hogfather or, shall we say, Father Christmas? Yes. We need to train our imagination on the little lies so that we can believe the big lies like "Justice," "Truth." - Terry Pratchett

Good tummy. I also like her expression she looks uncertain, nice segment to go with the illustration.

Looking good! I like the little background description too. It makes me want to know more about the time and the places. You should draw an updated map one of these days with proper cities and roads all put down!

Wow. you just keep getting better and better!! i love the shading to pieces!

She looks.. alive! Somehow your art keeps becoming more and more real, it's as if I can really imagine her moving. Totally superb. Some minor naggles if one HAS to critique: Some of the lining looks a bit thick compared to the rest, noticeable on the right hand and necklace. Aside from this, all is Totally splendid

But that would require days upon days of traversing every nook and cranny of the Old World! Seriously though, I wouldn't know where to start... for the way I am with names at the moment, I'd end up making it needlessly more indepth than what's appropiate. XD

Thanks! And if only it was that easy. =P Wouldn't want it that way though. It'd be kinda discouraging for my work to be rated on the same level as a 3D model. They're just too different and cheap to compare at times.
