Mieth's Bow

Legend has it that this bow was once crafted by a renowned nelri hunter, who was under the trance of one of Mieth’s charms, which some have said was the inadvertent cause for the witch’s strange era of contentedness that saw invaluable peace in the deeper reaches of Alaina’s Forest for decades. For this reason alone, and thanks to several colourful whims of folklore told among Alaina’s Folk, Mieth and the unnamed hunter were immortalised as lovers during that time, and that this bow was given to Mieth as a treasured keepsake in the heat of their physically-bound relationship. Of course, in those times it was said that the bow was beautiful and nelri-like in design. The hunter trained the young witch in its use in the midst of their lovemaking, and by the time the horrifying tragedy that took Mieth’s mortal sight, her lover and sanity away from her being came to pass, she was spoken of as a ‘rare harpy that could read the winds as carefully as the spirits that crafted it with Alaina’s blessing.’

After the tragedy, though, it is said that when Mieth fell to the darkest depths of her blind madness, she was so intoxicated with guilt over her lover’s tragic demise that the bow was the only mortal possession of theirs she kept by her side thereafter, despite that in her despair she reshaped the once beautiful bow into a gruesome sight. From wild bouts of insanity did her very nails hysterically tore at the former carvings and fashioned herself a weapon as twisted as her mind was in those days. And so did the blind half-nel's heart fell to darkness while her wary ears opened to a world she would learn to master again.

Thanks to the comments I got from *gppr and ~draegon16, I was finally able to fashion myself original lore to go with this... less than pretty bow concept. So thanks to them I’ve created yet another original character for my world's lore, who I just know I’m bound to draw after thinking on that little bit of history for her, The Blind Witch. (Yay, an evil/misunderstood chick!)
