Misty Path by Aikurisu Misty Path by Aikurisu
"Some say I walk the path of the Outcast, yet I refuse to cling to such an archaic thought. I am a wanderer. Nothing more, nothing less."

-- Myar

Over the course of the young Eldar woman's travels across the distant stars, Myar came into contact with many worlds as a lonely wanderer seeking curiosity with each. Some she would fondly recall, others she would be glad to forget. Nevertheless, many tales would surround Myar by the time she finished her long journey, and despite some fellow Eldar of other Craftworlds calling her an outcast for abandoning her blood family, friends and homeworld, it was not entirely clear what path she walked, only that it was enshrouded in mist. Such was Myar's path, till the day she would return home.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm thinking this will be my last Myar artwork for a while now. (Unless enough people still want to see more art of her...) Anyhoo, this was more of a speed painting than anything and... I simply don't have the drive to draw much of anything, for I need... well, a muse. A female one at that, yet despite all this I'm more or less pissed off that THQ is laying off workers involved with Relic Entertainment. God, like we need one of the last credible gaming developers out there suffer when few are so eager to break the mould anymore and give at least some RTS gamers something to cheer about. Meh...
Why am I even here anymore? Pretty bad when a grown man is too busy talking about crap like this. Sad, my life is.
I've found...in a moment of being completely and utterly curb stomped creatively that even an internet shoulder can help. :)
My story was basically thus;
I was creating fan-fiction upon a forum who's genre I liked and its people/creators/other fans I respected a lot. A moderator started conversing with me via private messaging and we got to discussing said fans, their fiction and such people's offerings of writing.
The sheer condescention and self righteous attitude of said moderator was breathtaking. The scorn and ridicule shoveled, nay, orbit-ally bombarded upon the average, Joe sidewalk kind of guy putting their words up on the forum...well...it damn shattered me.
Literately almost slumped over my keyboard in despair I could do little more than reach out electronically into the web in this, my moment of utter desolation, and there a friend (Some one whom I consider a very great friend) did the only thing they could from the other side of the world and threw me the equivalent of an 'Internet shoulder'.
I hope I can/could do the same for yourself.
Also, please visit [link] a wonderful friend and artist. *Bows*
Much cheers to you and yours.
That is definitely a sad story about the moderator. Sadly, there's plenty more of his/her like around, and with certain trends on the net gaining popularity, I fear they're growing in number. I guess we're just going to have to learn to live with them and move on.
Anyway, just wanted to say that I apologise for taking over half a year to reply. Your message wasn't forgotten; I just didn't have the right words to answer back in the day. So, yeah! Hope you had a great Christmas and may you have a prosperous New Year!
There are no standards about what should or should not do "grown man". And you know men are always teenagers at heart. I work 10 hours a day and get it for pennies. And all of these bills, the constant rise in prices, crises, and other minor problems ... If I'm not fond of Warhammer and other similar things. If I had not read books, painted miniatures and looked at the various marvelous arts on dA. I would have simply gone mad. You and other people on dA help me to forget about my problems. Good luck and inspiration to you :)
Thank you. =) And true. I guess I was just having a bad day where I was loathing all that I liked and thinking it useless to the real world. But, like you said, the real world as of late would probably be more on the edge of madness without it.
I don't see what it matters about what you talk about, grown man or not. You should see some of the "popular" journals that older members of this community write...
The picture is gorgeous, but I expected it to be when I clicked the thumbnail and you don't disappoint. Are you planning to pick up GW2?
Yeah, well, the 'popular' journals still get some pretty amazing feedback. Not my place to compete with them.
Anyhoo, yep. I have the CE for GW2 on preorder, but to be honest I am not anticipating it at all. Maybe the game's prolonged hype has lost my interest or something, but I just can't seem to work myself up to being excited about GW related stuff in general anymore. Maybe it's because I can't take what it's become seriously...
Glad you like the art, btw. =) I'm surprised at how much interest it's received so far, too. 0_o
Beautiful, like everything else you've made. While It'd be nice to see more Warhammer art from you, this feels like a good place if you wanted to take a break from it, like a cliffhanger that could also be used as a fitting ending.
Also, that's rough about Relic. And here I was clinging to the hope that Warhammer would keep taking more chances with video games.
Anyway, even if you don't draw Myar anymore, I hope you find a muse to keep on drawing awesome things.
Oh, I do plan on drawing more Myar art. What I meant was me being curious if people were getting sick of seeing her by now...
Anyway, you're probably right about leaving things at a cliffhanger here. And I'd be willing to draw more Warhammer art if I had enough support for it, yet at this rate I'm not sure if it's what people really want to see flood my gallery this year. Still, drawing Myar has been good fun and has achieved for me much more interest than many of my other original characters combined. And yeah, how I'd love to be able to recreate her in an actual video game, heh. They say Dark Millenium will still be delivered as a single player romp than the MMO it was meant to be, but I'm worried we're just going to be stuck with another bloody 40k title devoted to Space Marines and little else.
