A standard bow crafted by a nelri fletcher, it likely dates back to the era when the people of Ailyrenai worshipped Rothelim and the Three Sisters. For that, one point to make is that although the craftsmanship around the grip is intricate, it could be considered plain to the learned eye. Reason for this is that the green moonstones encrusted near the grip were easily obtainable in Ailyrenai and quite inexpensive in its local economy. Despite this, most fletchers among commoner ilk who looked to design their bows in honour to the Three Sisters, but could not afford anything truly extravagant in materials to make them, went with a basic colour scheme instead that reflected each of the three moons.
Such is why the bowstave was usually painted blue, the detail work white or silver, and the green moonstones, as previously mentioned, made up the three essential colours for honouring the Three Sisters.

Might as well call this a speed painting, as it was drawn in the last two hours. Was fun to draw a bow again too, and yes, this time I added a string! Hurrah! XD
Imma looking for bows on dA, and I found your gallery. Your art is amazing, awesome and I see some kind of magic. I love details, coloring...everything *-*.
Same. I was a huge fan of the Night Elves back in the day, too. Now... I hardly even give them any thought. But that can pretty much sum up my interest in the Warcraft universe in general. I miss the ol' RTS glory days...
