Sated Rest by Aikurisu Sated Rest by Aikurisu
”Every day, every night, I am yours, Zuri. I will keep you safe, whether you find it in my arms or in the knowledge that my blade will always be at your side, guarding your honour, your health. This much I vow to you, till the end of days, till I draw my last breath.”
-- Saul

Well, it’s that time of year again where I try to celebrate surviving another year here at DA since I first arrived on its shores. True, this is nothing fancy, but I hope some folks like another art for Saul and Zuri before I look to other characters and realms to draw for. (You could say this scene depicts what happened after all the fun in: [link]) And if you want to see more stuff created for this Arcadian couple, let me know! I’m playing around with the thought of focusing on them heavily next year, dedicating at least one chapter of their story for each month, which I’m thinking I’ll begin from the start and rewrite the three parts I released in October, making it character driven while avoiding the lore-esque feel it began with. (I’ll also try to give it a better title... since 'Arcadians' is pretty vague. This might be one of the first times I'm stumped on naming something...)

But yeah, no rush. For now, let us linger on the depressing thought that I’ve been lurking here for nine years. Wheeeeeeeee...

Congrats for sticking around this long, sticking around this long and still having people comment XP. seems every one comes and goes on here >.> maybe thats just the people i watch. I look forward to seeing your focus on your upcoming year. I find it is a good way to flush out the characters :) least my two bits for you

Thanks. =) (Here's hoping you like Saul and Zuri, too, because I plan on giving them plenty of love/fleshing them out next year!)

Agreed, btw. There do seem to be a lot of people jumping the DA ship in the past year. It's funny in a way too that I supposedly have over three thousand watchers. One would think I only have roughly three hundred or even much less with the kind of feedback I'm used to receiving, but ah well. Regardless, I'm always grateful when people do take the time to comment and so on. Were I to receive none I doubt I'd still be here, drawing to this day.

kinda weird to even imagine that many watchers on my end XP but it seems the newest gen that is using DA is more about the pictures and not about the art or skill behind it. Kinda weird. It's nice to receive a reply back from a comment i left, on both accounts, if it is me leaving a comment or someone commenting on my work. And don't get me wrong i have come and gone a bit from DA, but i am all ways around, unlike the friends that first got me hooked on DA lol

Look forward to learning more about your characters, art work has a tenancy to speak quite a bit... you know a picture is worth a 1000 words, personally i think pictures should tell a story for those that have the eye for it.

Thanks =D Personally, I liked choosing a more earthly colour for the bordering this time, too. With the soft light I think I even managed to accomplish some kind of pastel on canvas nature, too, ...but probably not. I'm not sure what to call it, really. XD
