Ulysses 31 Stamp

[link] It is the 31st Century. Ulysses killed the giant cyclops when he rescued the children and his son, Telemachus. But the ancient gods of Olympus are angry and threaten a terrible revenge...

By the Great Galaxy, however, there is now finally a stamp here at DA for this most beloved show. (Needs more fanart here, too...)

Incidentally, it was also released in the same year I was born. Compared to cartoons in this age, too, well... as a wise person once said:

“Why were the cartoons of the 80's so mature and dark, cartoons like this I think are good for the development of a young kid’s mind, so much more thought is put into the storylines and morals and lessons are taught.”


Sure, Ulysses 31 does have its faults, like its... weak handling of the original script when it came to the English voice dub, but other than that it was a solid show with overall great animation and concept art/designs. (There’s one episode in particular where Ulysses battles against multiple foes, and the scene is roughly on par with some of today's fight choreography seen in anime.) I’ve actually been on a quest for quite some time to find the original Japanese version, (or is it French?), but because of this show’s age, it’s pretty much a lost cause trying to locate it here in Australia. Still, here's hoping it's 31st birthday will bring along something epic...

Ah well, that doesn’t stop me from appreciating this show. It’ll always remain a childhood favourite of mine.
