DUNE - Part 2
Aye, I'm a few weeks late but I prefer my cinema experience nice and quiet with as few butts in seats as possible. That and this was the first film I was willing to pay for what is known to locals as the Gold Room. ... let's just say I didn't regret the decision given DP2's run time. ... that said, it's a shame I'm not made of money. Those seats are incredible. x_x There's a lot of talk about Zendaya being the weakest link among the cast and while I can agree to a point this is true I looked past it to enjoy an otherwise brilliant accomplishment, bringing to life a story few succeed with. As someone who has been a Villeneuve fan since the oddly divisive Blade Runner sequel, there's not much to fault here. The sound design is out of this world and the cinematography alone SHOULD be hailed among sci-fi's greats. That said, there's also been talk about it being on par with Jackson's Lord of the Rings? Nah. Sure, there's elements here and there that do just that but let's not kid
I love democracy. . .
... managed democracy, that is! Interesting fact. I only bought Helldivers 2 in support of the devs having a zero tolerance policy against modern day politics. Sure, it was on my radar before then but I intended to wait for it to come on sale before committing. Hey, I appreciate folks having a spine and, given the latest controversy exploding around a certain infant, it reminded me why I have a hard time enjoying anything nowadays, no thanks to outfits like it and those they represent. Needless to say, HD2 is perhaps one of the most fun games I've played in years. Remember when games were meant to be fun? An escape from reality? Remember when we could put our troubles aside and immerse ourselves in galaxies far, far away from what often divides us in this age? That's the feeling I got the moment I dived into HD2 and it's been an incredible experience for the most part. Yes, it's not perfect, yet the gameplay is addictive and I can't get enough of the universe's setting. That
What a month(s)...
Fortunately, things are getting better... I think? Lost my best boi in Jan. (RIP Piper...) Lost another dog shortly after, (RIP Jet), and not long after that the bore pump gave up the ghost and so the house/property has been without running water for the past week. And then, yesterday, our oldest dog, Barnsey, passed away. Needless to say, I haven't exactly been in the best mood to create of late... On the bright side, the taps are finally running again, so I look forward to taking a long shower tonight while wondering what else this year has in store for me. ... yay? x_x
Hooked on Palworld.
... title says it all. Dear Lord, its addictiveness is diabolical. x_x
